Session on Addressing health disparities in underserved populations

Addressing health disparities in underserved populations is an important public health issue. Health disparities are differences in health outcomes that exist between groups due to social, economic, and environmental factors. These disparities are particularly pronounced in underserved populations, such as low-income communities, racial and ethnic minorities, and rural areas. Nurses can play a critical role in addressing these disparities by advocating for policies that promote health equity, providing culturally competent care, and working to improve access to healthcare services. By addressing health disparities in underserved populations, nurses can contribute to reducing the burden of disease and promoting health equity for all individuals.
